I was in Taipei recently and we were staying at the Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel which is the tallest hotel in the capital city! The hotel soars 43 stories above Taipei’s flourishing business district and is an integral part of the Taipei Metro Complex. Situated on the fashionable tree-lined Tun Hwa South Road, the hotel has two MRT stations located within walking distance with extensive shopping and entertainment facilities nearby.
But we didn't really need to leave the hotel. First up, we were putting up at the Horizon Floor and our rooms offered us picturesque views of the Taipei skyline that showcase the Taipei 101. We also enjoyed privileged benefits, including private check-in and check-out services, access to the Horizon Club Lounge where delectable breakfast, all-day refreshments and evening canapés and cocktails was served while we indulged in the spectacular views of the city, Taipei 101 and the surrounding mountains.
There were also many dining facilities in the hotel that we got to check out! They include Shanghai Pavilion (39F, Shanghainese cuisine), Marco Polo Restaurant (38F, modern Italian), ibuki by TAKAGI KAZUO (7F, Japanese Teppanyaki, Kyoto, Sushi and Tempura), Shang Palace (6F, Cantonese) and Café at Far Eastern (6F, all-day dining and buffet). Marco Polo Lounge (38F, live DJ and cocktails) and Lobby Court (1F, live performance and gins) which features beverage selections, afternoon tea sets and light snacks, while Li Bai Lounge (6F, live jazz, whiskies and wines) provides a wide selection of delicacies and beverages.
Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei also boasts an outdoor year-round heated rooftop pool overlooking the city. I had such a great stay and will definitely recommend it to you guys!
